Brand Evangelist, and 14-year President of DAKCS
Founded on a simple approach
At DAKCS, we believed we could run a software company more like a family and we listened to what our customers want. This approach led us to create a flexible and reliable debt collection platform that has sustained our customers and us for almost four decades.
As we mark the 39th anniversary of DAKCS Software Systems this year and as I celebrate my 32-year milestone with DAKCS, the prospect of retirement is suddenly not that far away. As the leadership team discussed this, we’ve decided to develop a transition plan that allows for the transfer of domain and industry knowledge. To that end…
I am excited to share some news with you.
With the approval of our Board of Directors, on February 3, 2020, Andy Shumway will succeed me as President of DAKCS Software Systems. Andy has been a successful business leader in the technology sector for 20+ years. His energy is high and he holds dear our mission and vision. I will remain on the Board of Directors for the foreseeable future and will work closely with Andy to ensure a smooth transition. I will also continue to be involved in many customer-facing positions which will be good for me because I value the relationships that I have with each of you.
Passing the Reins
Having taken the reins from our founder Kent Green 14 years ago, I know that change is never easy, but it’s necessary to keep delivering on the commitments and promises we make to all of you. With this in mind, I have worked closely with the board to create a plan that will move us into the future.
“DAKCS has never been about one person, but about teamwork and the power of the tribe. We have an amazing team of talented, committed, and passionate individuals. Andy will join this team surrounded by this culture.”
Andy embraces responsibility with humility and passion, and he has the guts to innovate and test creative business models that DAKCS needs to stay at the forefront of this ever-changing landscape. DAKCS is in good hands.
Turning the Page
As for myself, I still have lots of dreams to pursue. Those who know me know that I do not like to sit idle. I am excited about contributing to new roles to help our growing company over the next few years. I also look forward to pursuing my creative passions and spending time with my family, which excites me because this is what I love to do.
“It’s been an amazing journey these past 32 years and I’m truly grateful for the part each of you has played in it. I look forward to great things in 2020 and beyond.”
