Support Team Tips

The DAKCS support team works closely with the entire DAKCS community answering a wide variety of questions that range from simple clarification to complex custom definitions. No easy task when you consider the hundreds of programs and customs in the STING, Beyond.net and VIC alone. In the course of their day to day work activities, team members often discover helpful hints and tips that make system administration easier…sometimes clients share their ideas and often the employees create them themselves as they investigate an issue or concern.

Bonnie Naethe, one of the senior members of the team, shared two of her helpful hints that we think might be useful to many of you. If you need further clarification or you just want to thank Bonnie for the advice, please call her at 801-394-5791 ext. 219.

  1. Do you find yourself trying to figure out which Intercept Table is actually changing accounts?
If you type menu options 8, 3 and 9, the exact table will be identified. When you simply type "I " for Intercept history, you will not get the exact table information that you are looking for.
  2. Are you currently enjoying the many benefits of the new VIC dialer? Do you change the dialogues?
If so, please make certain that when you make dialogue changes, specifically: create a new dialog, change the name of the dialog, change the dialog type (messaging, predictive, attended) or if you are running the dialog designer from a different machine than the VIC box, you must run the Submit Dialogs (update utility) to send the new setup to the Sting side. Once you complete the update, you should run menu options 8, 17, 2, 21 and 13 to clear out the old dialogs so that the lines will not drop.

Please note that modifications to the flow or individual nodes of the dialog do not affect the Sting side and therefore do not require this step.
