DAKCS Advisory Board
One of the unique aspects of DAKCS Software Systems is their dedicated Advisory Board. The Board, an integral part of DAKCS’ steadfast customer focus, is comprised of eight representatives who are senior members of their respective company organizations. Each person represents a distinct United States region as defined by DAKCS, based upon the demographics of the user community. He/she serves a three year term after which their specific user group holds an election to either reelect the incumbent or replace him/her with a new representative.
The Board meets twice a year to discuss a variety of industry/regulatory issues, to present new software ideas from their respective groups and to vote on features and functionality that will be included in the annual software revision. The revision is a feature rich product enhancement that is provided to each DAKCS customer annually at no additional charge.
The Advisory Board mission statement is as follows: “The DAKCS Software Systems Advisory Board mission is to promote and improve DAKCS products and services by providing guidance and offering feedback from the customer perspective and representing the views and interests of the user community.”
According to DAKCS’ President Lex Patterson, “Communication is the key to our ongoing success. The Advisory Board is another critical link to our user community. They communicate with and listen to their user groups, providing an important communications channel for our customers. They help us to stay focused on what’s really important: improving the business performance of our customers.”

I am Scott Millsap, President of Automated Accounts, Inc. in Spokane, Washington. I have over thirty years of collection experience, with most of these years being owner-operator of my own agency. I have always been an active member of the Spokane community. I am the former President, and current member, of the Rotary Club of Spokane Number 21. I am the former chair of Bowl for Kid’s sake, a Big Brothers and Sisters program, and the former chair of fundraising for Habitat House. I am also a husband and father of four, with my oldest being a freshman in college at University of Utah and my youngest being in sixth grade. Each of my children has many interests and activities that I take an active part in.
During my early years, I was Vice-President of Sales at DAKCS Software Systems. My responsibilities included selling and installing DAKCS systems nationwide and in Australia. I started using the DAKCS system when it was a card system. For the last thirty years I have grown with the DAKCS software systems and have implemented all of the DAKCS products in my company. In addition, I have previously served on the DAKCS advisory board.
The collection industry changes rapidly, especially with these troubled economic times. These changes present new risks and opportunities to all involved. I work hard to stay abreast of the potential pitfalls and take advantage of opportunities that arise. I have been a member of the Association of Credit and Collection Professionals since my company’'s inception, taking advantage of their many notifications providing updates on changes in my area and nationwide. I recently attended a Washington Collector’s Association forum to obtain information and discusss legislative changes that are currently in progress in Washington State.
