DAKCS Advisory Board
One of the unique aspects of DAKCS Software Systems is their dedicated Advisory Board. The Board, an integral part of DAKCS’ steadfast customer focus, is comprised of eight representatives who are senior members of their respective company organizations. Each person represents a distinct United States region as defined by DAKCS, based upon the demographics of the user community. He/she serves a three year term after which their specific user group holds an election to either reelect the incumbent or replace him/her with a new representative.
The Board meets twice a year to discuss a variety of industry/regulatory issues, to present new software ideas from their respective groups and to vote on features and functionality that will be included in the annual software revision. The revision is a feature rich product enhancement that is provided to each DAKCS customer annually at no additional charge.
The Advisory Board mission statement is as follows: “The DAKCS Software Systems Advisory Board mission is to promote and improve DAKCS products and services by providing guidance and offering feedback from the customer perspective and representing the views and interests of the user community.”
According to DAKCS’ President Lex Patterson, “Communication is the key to our ongoing success. The Advisory Board is another critical link to our user community. They communicate with and listen to their user groups, providing an important communications channel for our customers. They help us to stay focused on what’s really important: improving the business performance of our customers.”
Advisory Board Members
David Hemrick: Chairperson of the Advisory Board – Southwest Region
Dave was born in Kinston, North Carolina. He grew up around the collection industry, working in his father's office during summer breaks while in high school.
He moved to California in 1971, where he began working in family collection business in Watsonville, California in 1973. He purchased agency, Pacific Credit Services, in 1979. After much research and procrastination, he joined the DAKCS family in 1985. (Kent still did installations in those days)
He has 3 daughters: Kate-21, Lindsey-23 and Ashlee-26. A great deal of his time over the last 20 years has been spent with the girls; coaching, watching, cheering, hanging out at Lake Tahoe and just having fun.
He loves just about any outdoor activity but his favorites are: golf, swimming, biking, hiking, skiing (snow & water) and curling. Although he doesn't get to do too much curling in California, he will always remember his glory days at the Ogden Ice sheet. He still has the gold medal hanging on his dresser. Wine making and wine tasting are two of his favorite indoor activities.
Kelly Parsons – Far West Region
Kelly Parsons is the collection manager at Credit Bureau Associates. She will be a third generation agency owner in the near future. She has over 16 years of experience in the collection industry and with the DAKCS system. Kelly knows the DAKCS system well; she started as a user and is now the administrator of the system at her office.
Kelly manages a midsized collection department and is responsible for training, developing her staff and collecting money for her clients. She continues to further her education by attending seminars throughout the year as well as the "infamous" DAKCS conference.
Frank Fox – Mid-east Region
Frank Fox has worked in collections since high school. His Dad started the business in 1950 and always needed good help. Around 1972 Frank went to work for his father on a full time basis. In 1984 Jim Blair and James Eaton sold him the DAKCS system. He subsequently partnered with Joann Birdwell and Nova Gray in 1989 to buy the business from his Dad. Two hardworking gals and the DAKCS system have helped Fox Collections become a tremendously successful collection agency. Throughout the years Frank has been an active and vocal DAKCS user, always ready and willing to help other users learn how to get the biggest benefit from the system. A long time member of the DAKCS Advisory Board, Frank has been instrumental in many of the revision changes that have occurred in the last few years.
His favorite pastime is spending time with two wonderful grandsons. He may even finally go to Disney World!
